I am leaving in less than two weeks and instead of completing things that are on my "Todo To-Do" list, I am creating a blog. It probably isn't the best choice, but it is the most enjoyable and therefore receives top priority. (That's usually how things go around here anyways- you'll see.) So here we go....

DiaRios Diarios (or Daily River Diaries)

Hmmm, maybe an introduction should come first.

Introduction
My name is Rebecca, but you probably already know that since most likely you are a member of my family (hi mom!) or circle of friends. And if you weren't before, then you are now, Friend.

I am here (currently San Bernardino, California but soon to be Santiago, Chile) contributing to the (what some call) pointless mess of online journals (aka blogs) for the following reasons:
1. To contribute to the pointless mess of online journals
2. To facilitate communication (Basically, I don't want to spend a lot of money on phone cards calling home and I want to keep everyone updated)
3. To gather my thoughts and share my experiences as I travel, live, and study abroad as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar
4. To not have to worry about losing my DiaRios

Speaking of my DiaRios, let me explain the name to you in case you don't already get it.

Explanation of DiaRios Diarios: "Dia" is a Spanish word meaning day and "rio" means river. "Diario" means diary or journal. Hence the name of my blog DiaRios Diarios (or Daily River Diaries). And I am not about to explain the to metaphor to you.

Whew, this blogging can take a lot out of a person. It's no wonder some weirdos devote every waking moment to it. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed reading my introduction as much as I enjoyed writing it, but I have to pay some attention to my "Todo To-Do List" (and number one on that list is getting some sleep).
